I was born in 1938 and for as long as I can remember I have loved to paint. I gained the first distinction at GCE 'A' level in Art in London and wanted to paint full time. I was advised first to enter a profession, so I studied Architecture. During my career I painted and sketched for recreation, but it was not until I retired that I began to paint as I had always wanted.
When almost by accident during the mid-80's recession my wife, the artist Brenda Scott and I 'discovered' North Norfolk we were instantly struck by the deep sense of peace and unity, the vast, embracing openness and quality of light, colour and space of the coastal marshes that are particular to this beautiful coast. Here, a person can be refreshed and re-discover themselves. We retired to the beautiful village of Binham in 2002.
I exhibit regularly and take part in Norfolk Open Studios each year. I give demonstrations and personal painting tuition, and visitors are always welcome to our studio and small private gallery by prior appointment. Telephone 01328 830 525, or e-mail me at lionel.pisca@btinternet.com
